Notice of appointment – Lawyer with the Insurance Law and Civil Litigation Group

Pierre Moreau, Bélanger Sauvé’s Managing Partner and member of the firm’s Executive Committee is pleased to announce the appointment of Alex as a lawyer with the firm’s Insurance Law and Civil Litigation Group.

Alex Labelle took up his position on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at the firm’s Montréal office, where he successfully fulfilled the École du Barreau’s six months articling requirements.

“My articling experience gave me the opportunity to meet a team of friendly, dedicated people and I am so pleased to be joining that team”, he said. “For the past six months, I’ve been learning in a motivating environment in which I’m excited to continue developing as a lawyer. I very much look forward to the challenges that lie ahead working with my new colleagues.”

Alex Labelle graduated with an LL.B. from Université du Sherbrooke. During his academic career, he provided support and advice to a not-for-profit organization working to preserve and protect Quebec’s agricultural land. In particular he advised on the interpretation of the relevant legislation and the effective use of social utility trusts. On the professional front, he was the general manager of a company providing mentoring and tutoring services to elementary and high school students, as well as CEGEP and university students. In that role, he steered the company’s growth, cultivated and maintained professional relationships with partners and oversaw the tutor-recruitment process.

Mr. Labelle also made a significant contribution to his university community, notably as a member of the board of directors of the Association générale étudiante de droit de l’Université de Sherbrooke.
