Transfer duties: a Belanger Sauvé partner publishes the sixth edition of his indispensable reference tool

Table of Contents

In an ongoing effort to share his knowledge and contribute to the evolution of real estate law, Marc Lalonde, partner at Bélanger Sauvé, publishes the sixth edition of his reference work on transfer duties.

Published by Éditions Yvon Blais for the first time in 2010, and entitled, “Loi concernant les droits sur les mutations immobilières annotée et commentée”, the work is intended for real estate law professionals, such as notaries and lawyers, as well as municipal officers.

The book covers each of the Act’s provisions, with an exhaustive review of case law, commentary by the author and cross-references to other relevant legislation.

“It is intended as a working and reference tool — a compendium of extremely useful information”, explained the author, Marc Lalonde.

As a lawyer specializing in municipal and administrative law, he came up with the idea for the book after five years of collecting case law, personal notes on questions he was asked, and the numerous legal opinions he had written on the subject.

“I had compiled this reference tool for my own use before even thinking about publishing it, and I still use it regularly in my practice,” he added.

The sixth edition contains 424 pages. It can be purchased directly from Éditions Yvon Blais.
