
Pierre Moreau to lead a panel on municipal taxation

Pierre Moreau, Managing Partner of Bélanger Sauvé and former MNA, will participate in a panel discussion on municipal taxation along with two economic experts at the annual conference of the Association des directeurs généraux des municipalités du Québec (ADGMQ) to be held in Laval in June 2023. In his long and illustrious political career he served, among other things, as Parliamentary Assistant to the Chair of the Conseil du trésor and Minister responsible for Government Administration and as Minister for Municipal Affairs. His perspective will enrich the discussion.
“It is with great enthusiasm that I join experienced economists to discuss a subject that is a central concern of all municipalities,” he said.
The panel will consist of Pierre Moreau and Pierre Prévost, professor and economist and Sébastien Roy, Director General of the City of Varennes, an economist by training.
The discussion will be about reinventing municipal taxation and will be moderated by Yvan Loubier, economist. former federal MP and Vice President of the public relations firm NATIONAL.
The panel discussion will take place on Thursday, June 8. The ADGMQ conference will be held from Wednesday, June 7 to Friday June 9, 2023 at the Sheraton Laval Hotel. This year’s theme, entitled “Imaginez!” focuses on the ideal city.
