On January 12, the firm Bélanger Sauvé was pleased to welcome Mr. Thomas Dussault as an articling student in our Montreal office. He will join our public law and civil litigation team to complete his professional training over the next six months.
Thomas Dussault
A 2023 law graduate from the University of Montreal, Mr. Dussault distinguished himself through his outstanding academic record, earning him a place on the Dean’s Honour List. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Political Science at the University of Montreal, which he began in 2024, concurrently with his training at the Bar School and his professional internship.
Combining his interests in law and political science, his Master’s thesis focuses on the protection of the rule of law, specifically its political conception within the context of the opposition between authoritarian liberalism and socialism in the Weimar Republic.
“I am very pleased to begin my articling at Bélanger Sauvé and to join a team of renowned lawyers who will support me in developing my professional skills. I look forward to working on a variety of stimulating public law cases.”
During his studies, Mr. Dussault worked as a research assistant for two professors at the University of Montreal, contributing to research on constitutional and civil law. He was also actively involved in the university community and beyond, notably serving on a board of directors and mentoring law students.
Professionally, Mr. Dussault has acquired diverse experience in research and writing, particularly at a major Quebec journalism institution and a renowned labour organization.
When he’s not at the office or the library, you can find him hiking, cycling, or browsing a bookstore.
Throughout his articling period, Mr. Dussault will collaborate with lawyers from various areas of expertise in the Montreal and Joliette offices.
