Mathieu has been practicing in the field of civil and commercial litigation since 2016. He has represented various public bodies, national and international insurers, businesses, executives, and professionals, such as architects and accountants, in a wide range of disputes. He is particularly appreciated by his clients for his attentiveness, proactivity, professionalism, and thoroughness. His analytical skills also allow him to develop strategies that go beyond legal issues when clients’ needs must also consider political, financial, reputational, and human factors.

Mathieu regularly represents our clients before the courts, both at trial and on appeal, as well as in private methods of dispute prevention and resolution. His practice has enabled Mathieu to develop ease in court and agility in questioning.

While maintaining a varied practice, Mathieu has also developed a deeper expertise in construction law and professional liability. In the construction sector, he has represented developers, contractors, subcontractors, and professionals in critical cases involving numerous stakeholders. His experience defending chartered professional accountants has also led him to work on complex disputes, including disagreements between shareholders, business valuation disputes, and contested tax planning.

After obtaining his law degree from the University of Montreal, Mathieu completed a specialized graduate program at the Faculty of Law at the University of Sherbrooke in the areas of mediation, arbitration, negotiation, and psychology. This knowledge and skill set are key assets in his ability to analyze disputes and develop effective strategies.

In addition to his practice, Mathieu is an excellent communicator and teaches at the Quebec Bar School, where he participates in the training of future lawyers.
