With a passion for biology, Mtre Weaner-Milliard debuted her academic studies in microbiology and immunology, a discipline in which she has developed an expertise in bacteriology and mycology. It is during a course in bioethics, addressing the ethical and legislative fundaments governing scientific practices, that her passion for law first emerged. She therefore chose to pursue full-time legal studies, while continuing her science program part-time, with the aim of directing her career towards a field that would allow her to actively contribute to change by balancing various multidisciplinary matters.
Always eager to learn, Mtre Weaner-Milliard also completed a graduate diploma and a master’s degree in common law and transnational law. This training allowed her to work as a research assistant in administrative law and confirmed her strong interest for this type of practice. Given her background, she had the opportunity to join Bélanger Sauvé’s team as a law student and is now pursuing her career as a lawyer at the firm.
